Bill Belichick reportedly wants a quieter atmosphere at his next destination.
The former Patriots head coach has only met with one team, and that may be why interest in him seems to have waned a bit.
Although Belichick is believed to have little interest in coaching a team in a major media market, According to Pro Football Talk.
The report says it stems from a desire to avoid an aggressive reporter developing sources within his staff or organization.
Since Belichick parted ways with the Patriots on Jan. 11, he has so far only met with the Falcons and reportedly met with Atlanta twice.
Belichick was quickly named a top candidate to land the Falcons, but as Belichick's momentum appeared to slow, the team subsequently hired former Titans coach Mike Vrabel twice to hire the Rams' defensive coordinator. I interviewed Mr. Raheem Morris twice.
Pro Football Talk reported that the chain of command is also extremely important to Belichick.
In the case of the Falcons, Belichick will likely have to report to CEO Rick McCulley, but Belichick may not be interested in that.
Belichick led the Patriots to six Super Bowl championships, nine AFC Championships, 17 AFC East titles and 296 regular-season and playoff wins.
But they have struggled without Tom Brady, missing the playoffs in three of the past four years and finishing 4-13 with the Patriots last season.
However, he remains passionate about his coaching career, with a total of 333 career wins (regular season and playoffs), 14 wins shy of Don Shula's record of 347.
“For me, today is a day of gratitude and celebration,” Belichick said in his Patriots exit press conference. “We had a vision to build a winning team here, to build a championship football team. It exceeds the amount of success we were able to achieve together.”

The Patriots promoted Jerrod Mayo, who previously played on the team and was the team's linebackers coach, to replace Belichick as head coach.
