Blue Cities Turning Major Airports into Migrant Shelters

The city of Boston has begun holding hundreds of illegal border crossers at Logan International Airport, despite Massport's interim CEO's assertion that the airport is “not the appropriate place” to hold immigrants.

In November, interim CEO Ed Freni advocated for the airport not to be used for that purpose.

“I must emphasize that Logan is not a suitable place to house people,” he said. WBZ-TV.

But even then, the state had been expelling illegal aliens to airports for three months, even before state officials said the state's shelter system was reaching its limits.

Migrants keep coming despite claims they shouldn't be there.

Monday, Massachusetts Democratic Party. Gov. Maura Healey called on President Joe Biden to loosen the federal government's purse strings as the number of illegal aliens began to increase in the corridor around Logan.

Healey added that it's up to Biden to “fix the border.”

“In terms of what to do to resolve the border situation, fix some of the asylum procedures and get much-needed funding to some of the landlocked states that have had to shoulder the burden of the problem. The door is open.' It's geopolitical, it's not a national decision,'' Governor Healey said. Said CBS on January 22nd.

A similar story is happening in Illinois, where officials in the deep blue city of Chicago have been locking up hundreds of immigrants for more than a year.

The situation in the Windy City has become so bad that authorities have begun installing black plastic tarpaulins to hide migrants from airport users and city residents, and are blocking travelers from walking through gate-to-gate corridors. There is only a narrow aisle space.

Social media is filled with videos from Chicago's O'Hare International Airport.

For months, many have been sounding the alarm about the growing problem at O'Hare.

As the Associated Press reported in September, the city had been installing the screens since at least August.

“This was supposed to be a stopping point,” Vianney Marzullo, one of O'Hare's few volunteers, told The Associated Press. “That's very concerning. This is not just a safety issue, it's a public health issue.”

Like Healey, Illinois Democratic Gov. JB Pritzker is asking the Biden administration for more federal funding and more aid.

In October, Pritzker noted that illegal immigration is a major problem in Illinois.

In his letter to Biden, Pritzker stopped short of asking the president to stem the flow of Americans into the American community, but said illegal aliens pose a “tremendous strain on our nation's resources.” He said there was.
