Despite her hopes of winning the New Hampshire primary, Nikki Haley has once again been overshadowed by Donald Trump.
Many of Ms. Haley's supporters are what Dave Rubin calls “crossover people,” people who normally think of themselves as liberals, because of various problems within the Democratic Party. are presumed to be voters who are currently voting Republican — perhaps most notably for Joe Biden. He will be the party's candidate.
Not surprisingly, many longtime conservatives have accused Nikki Haley of being a RINO, which likely explains her popularity among crossover voters.
Political analyst David Chalian looked at the New Hampshire primary data and agreed this was likely true.
“When you look at the results of these exit polls, it looks like a Mars and Venus world for the Haley-Trump coalition,” Charian told CNN's Jake Tapper.
“According to our exit polls, 70% of those who voted for President Trump are registered Republicans,” while “27% of Trump voters are registered unfiled or independents.”
In stark contrast, “70% of Hailey voters are undocumented and registered,” while “only 27% are registered Republicans.”
“Complete reversal!” Charian yells.
However, the data gets even more interesting.
“We see this when we ask people, 'Did Joe Biden legitimately win the 2020 election?'…Among Trump supporters, 80% say no.” Compared to “83% of Haley supporters'' who claim “Joe Biden won legitimately.'' was The rightful winner of 2020. ”
“It's remarkable who the people who crossed over went to,” Dave says. “Oh, these are the people who are likely to vote for a Republican like Nicki.” They just don't vote for Trump. ”
