In the Week 2 matchup, KC increased its lead to 35-24 with 22 minutes left in the game, but Lamar Jackson's two rushing TDs in the fourth quarter gave the Ravens the lead for good. His first third quarter was full of big plays. The story of being the only multi-score win on the team is told by Jackson's stat line. He wasn't at his best in this Week 3 contest. The Chiefs built a lead of 13-3 and then 20-10 before a 49-yard pass from Mahomes broke the game open. The Ravens regained the lead at 27-20 as the fourth quarter began, but KC fought back with another touchdown, putting the game out of reach. Baltimore's first touchdown was a 93-yard kickoff return, so the offense only scored one TD all game.

Mahomes completed a great day, completing 31-of-42 for 385 yards and four TD passes, adding 26 yards and a TD pass on the ground. Jackson completed 15-of-28 for just 97 yards and one touchdown, and added nine rushes for 83 yards. Lamar was sacked four times, fumbled twice and lost once to the opposing team.

The first matchup between the two teams in Jackson's rookie season was decided in Week 14. The teams traded short rushing touchdowns, but then Baltimore had to settle for a 28-yard field goal midway through the second quarter. Travis Kelce's TD catch and field goal as time expired gave Kansas City a touchdown-sized lead in the first half. The Ravens scored a TD in the third quarter and found the end zone again with four minutes left, building a seven-point lead. Mahomes made his mark on the ensuing drive, converting multiple fourth downs as Kansas City tied the game with just under a minute left. After a nine-second deficit with the Ravens, the Chiefs recovered a Jackson fumble for the Ravens' 24 points. Harrison Butker missed the winning field goal as time expired, sending the game into overtime. The Chiefs made a field goal on the first drive of OT, and Jackson was knocked out on the following drive. Robert Griffin III's final two passes were incomplete, ending the game.

Mahomes was 35-of-53 for 377 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception, but had three sacks and one fumble (recovered by KC). Jackson completed 13-of-24 for 147 yards with 67 yards on the ground and two touchdowns, but was sacked twice and lost a fumble. RG3 was 0-for-2.

In four games against the Ravens, Mahomes has been great. He completed 117 of 163 attempts (71.78%) for 1,479 yards (369.75 yards per game), 12 touchdowns, two interceptions, and was sacked just four times. He again had a touchdown on the ground and both fumbles were recovered by his own team.

Against the Chiefs, Jackson's numbers aren't as great as his opponents. He completed 68 of 121 (56.20%) for 750 yards (187.5 yards per game) with four touchdowns to two interceptions and was sacked 10 times. He gained 305 more yards and three touchdowns, but two of his three fumbles were recovered by the Chiefs.

This is a good time to remind them that the two quarterbacks will likely never be on the field together, except for a coin toss and a handshake. Lamar can't do anything to slow Patrick down, and wins aren't a QB statistic among many players for that reason. But it's hard to argue with Mahomes' success against the Ravens.
