Richard Goldberg, a senior adviser at the Foundation for Defense of Democracies, told Breitbart News on Sunday that if President Joe Biden wants to avoid a major war, he should follow President Donald Trump’s example and appoint Iranian terrorist commanders. He said he needed to attack.
Mr. Goldberg said Breitbart News Sunday SiriusXM Patriot 125 on the day an Iranian-backed militia killed three U.S. soldiers and injured dozens more in a drone attack on a U.S. military outpost on the Jordanian border.
Mr. Goldberg, a former Capitol Hill staffer and U.S. Navy Reserve officer who helped coordinate opposition to President Barack Obama’s Iran nuclear deal in 2015, said Mr. Biden’s Iran appeasement and funding policies will bear bitter fruit. He said that it is producing.
“This situation has been going on for a long time, but it has been a three-year warning sign that President Biden deliberately ignored. It was roughly the 250th attack by the organization. He has never fought back militarily against Iran. Instead, he has used the We opened the financial tap.”

Goldberg said Biden could order a military response short of all-out war to deter further attacks by Iran. He said Trump’s attack on Iranian terrorist commander Qasem Soleimani in Iraq in 2020 was a model. In response, Iran fired a barrage of missiles at the U.S. military base, but no U.S. soldiers were killed.
“What we’re talking about is exactly what President Trump did. … This brought the Iranian regime back to its feet. … They were afraid of Donald Trump. During his first year in office, he did not even escalate his nuclear program.
Mr. Goldberg said Mr. Biden would cut funding to Iran, reduce political support for the Iranian regime through nuclear deal negotiations, and strengthen the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), an elite force that the Trump administration has labeled a terrorist group. He said that a direct attack should be launched.
“He has to target [Iranian] The commanders of the Revolutionary Guards who are leading this attack. He can’t just go after Arab militias. That’s not the same as launching an invasion of Iran. No one asked for it. No one said it would increase the possibility of regional conflict. The way to reduce that is to put the Iranians back on the defensive. scare them.
“President Biden must have a ‘Soleimani moment,’ or more Americans will die.”
