Travis Kelce blames ‘d–k’ Justin Tucker for pregame incident

Travis Kelce won’t tolerate being “portrayed as the bad guy” after his pregame incident with Ravens kicker Justin Tucker before last Sunday’s AFC Championship game.

In his latest work with his brother Jason Kelsey, Podcast “New Heights”the Chiefs tight end called Tucker a “f–king d–k” for stretching in the Chiefs’ designated area where Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes was throwing.

“I love being portrayed as the bad guy,” Travis said, explaining why he threw Tucker’s helmet, practice ball and kick tee as seen in the video.

“Oh, you’re definitely being portrayed as the bad guy,” Jason said. “I got a bunch of people texting me in the middle of the game like, ‘What is Travis doing?’ … I’m like, ‘You guys don’t know anything.’

Travis appeared to be referring to Tucker’s account of the incident when he told reporters Monday that he had never experienced anything like it in his 12 years in the NFL.

“That’s the unwritten rule,” Travis said. “If you want to get shitty about it, just keep a helmet and a football and a fucking kicking tee where quarterbacks warm up and drop.” [back]His eyes look to the left, and he wears a helmet at his feet. ”

Travis and Jason said that when specialists are warming up in an opponent’s designated area, the “unspoken rule” is to “stay out of their way” and “not interfere” with the opposing team’s activities. He explained.

“If you don’t want to pick it up, we’ll be happy to move it,” Travis said. “Justin came out and he said it was a joking gesture, it was like a fun competition, and I get it, he winked at me and badmouthed me about it and essentially I was trying to understand.

Jason, who is rumored to be retiring after 13 seasons with the Eagles, agreed.

“It’s actually kind of dangerous…He knew what he was doing,” the All-Pro center said.

Travis recalled that he intended to work with Mahomes before the AFC Championship game, but wasn’t in the mood to joke.

“Okay,” Travis said. “Me and Pat have had the same mindset all week going into this game, and it was, ‘We’ve got to go into the game and have the right mindset.’ We weren’t in the mood to joke. We were ready to go after it.

“So, Justin, I’m sorry if I’m taking it to a level you didn’t imagine, but if you’re going to be mean, I promise I can always one-up you.”

Jason added that Tucker, a Super Bowl champion kicker who has been with Baltimore his entire career, is “known for this type of thing.”

“I mean, he’s a legendary kicker and he knows how to hit the button,” Jason said, to which Travis replied, “He’s a legendary kicker and he knows how to hit the button.” Please don’t paint me as a bad person. ”

On Monday, Tucker said he didn’t intend to cause any trouble while stretching near Mahomes.

“I’m willing to let everything go,” the All-Pro kicker said. “But that’s what I’ve been doing for 12 years and I’m not trying to cause any trouble. Like them, I’m just trying to prepare for a football game and that’s what I’ve been doing for 12 years. That’s all I really have to say about it, mind you.”

Jason recalled seeing a viral video of Travis throwing Tucker’s stuff into one of the end zones at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.

“When you watch these clips, you can see him painting. You can see his facial expressions,” Jason said. “He knows what he’s doing…It worked, but it worked in the wrong direction, because it was a record day for the Yeti.”

Travis led all players with 11 catches for 116 yards and a touchdown in the Chiefs’ 17-10 victory over the Ravens in the AFC Championship Game.

The reigning champion Kansas City Chiefs will face the San Francisco 49ers in the 2024 Super Bowl on February 11th at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
