Majority of swing-state voters in new poll wouldn’t vote for Trump if convicted

A new poll finds that a majority of voters in battleground states say they will not vote for former President Donald Trump in the next election if he is convicted.

of Bloomberg News/Morning Consult Survey Among voters in battleground states such as Arizona, Georgia, Michigan, Nevada, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin, 53 percent of respondents said they would be more likely to vote if the former president was convicted of one of several criminal offenses. It was revealed that the respondents said they did not want to vote for him.

Forty-six percent of respondents said they were “very reluctant” to vote for Trump if he was found guilty, and 7% said they were “somewhat reluctant.” Twenty-nine percent of respondents said they were “very willing” to vote for Trump if he was convicted, and 11% said they were “somewhat outraged.”

The survey found that women voters, voters over 65, and voters with a bachelor’s degree or graduate school degree were more likely to say they would not vote for the former president if he was convicted.

Black and Asian voters were also more likely to say they would not vote if Trump was convicted. Three-quarters of respondents who identified as atheists said they would not vote for Trump if he was convicted.

The survey found that people who voted for Trump in the 2016 and 2020 presidential elections were less likely to say they would change their mind if convicted.

The former president faces four separate indictments and has been charged with more than 90 felonies, in addition to a civil fraud case scheduled to conclude this week.

The survey was conducted from January 16-22 among 4,956 voters in seven battleground states. Results have a margin of error of 1 percentage point.
