Tara Reade, the woman who came forward with sexual assault allegations against then-candidate Joe Biden in 2020, is suing the Justice Department for alleged misconduct.
Reade’s lawyers filed a tort suit Wednesday seeking $10 million for “inflicting emotional distress and anxiety” following what was described as an “FBI operation” after she came forward with the accusations against Biden. woke up. The tort claim alleges that Reid’s Fourth Amendment rights were violated, as well as the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) and state privacy laws.
The tort claims included a July 2020 grand jury subpoena issued to Twitter by the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of California requesting all records related to Reid’s Twitter account.

The tort complaint outlines several allegations against the FBI, including the disarray of her bank accounts and the manuscript of her book that went missing from a FedEx package in November 2020. She claims it was behind the suspicious events which further elaborated on her claims.
“America should not have a two-tiered justice system,” Reed’s lawyer, Jonathan Levy, said in a statement. “If President Trump and Giuliani could be sued for tens of millions in damages for what they said, let’s silence, intimidate, and eliminate Joe Biden’s victim Tara Reade. The FBI, armed with such weapons, must also be held accountable. Failure to do so means we are responsible.”The judiciary and legal system have become instruments of political repression and repression. ”
The Justice Department declined to comment.
Last month, Ms. Reed’s lawyers sent a letter to the Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General demanding the release of all FBI files on her and the expungement of all cases.

Reade came forward in 2020 alleging that Biden sexually assaulted her at the Capitol in 1993 while he was a Senate staffer. Biden denied her claims.
Last year, Reed made headlines when she revealed that she had moved to Russia due to safety concerns.
