America’s diners may be open all the time, but the establishments that have provided food for generations will be closed for good.
Denny’s has closed Oakland, California It was revived for the first time in 54 years due to the high number of crimes in the city.
The restaurant was located at 601 Hegenberg Road. In an internal memo shared with local stores, Denny’s said the decision was not taken lightly.

“However, the safety and health of Denny’s team members and valued guests is our top priority,” the company said. “After considering these factors, the decision was made to close this store.”
The company maintains a Bay Area location at 1776 Powell Street in Emeryville, California.
Oakland, California’s only In-Out restaurant closes due to crime
The closures come after In-N-Out announced it would close its Oakland store in March, citing an epidemic of violent crime and theft. This is the first time in the chain’s 75-year history that one of its restaurants has been forced to close.
Local leaders and civil rights activists blame city policies for the closure.
Local activist Seneca Scott called for the recall of Oakland Mayor Shen Tao, saying it was “hard to continue working” after Denny’s closed.
