Southern California Chargers fans, keep an eye out for Jim Harbaugh and his RV at your local trailer park.
The Chargers’ new head coach told reporters at his inaugural press conference that he is looking forward to driving to Golden State in his RV and camping there for a few months before moving home.
“We would like to drive the RV to a waterfront trailer park or near Disneyland. We did some research and found that those two are close to the property,” Harbaugh said. “I look forward to leaving Jim Rockford in charge for the next few months until we move into our new facility.
“That’s the thought that goes through my head.”
Harbaugh has already talked to his wife, Sarah, who seemed to agree with the unique idea.
The former University of Michigan coach was officially introduced to the media Thursday as the Chargers’ new head coach and is seen as a potential franchise-changing hire.
Harbaugh said he expects “multiple championships” for the Chargers.
“We remain humble.” Harbaugh said at the press box.. “Humble and hungry. But that’s our goal. Our goal is to treat people in a first-class manner and win multiple championships.”
The Chargers have only been to the Super Bowl once in franchise history, in 1995, so the team’s new coach will have a lot of work ahead of him.
Los Angeles will come off a 5-12 season in 2023.
“I report directly to the Spanos family and owners,” Harbaugh said. According to the team’s website. “I feel like reporting to the fans as well. I report to the players. I have a responsibility to everyone in the organization. I’m going to work on it, you know? That’s the mission, that’s the goal. .”
He added: “I’m not going to be shy about saying this: We want to be known as world champions.”
