A federal appeals court is considering Mr. Trump’s claim that the president has immunity from prosecution for his actions while in office. A ruling from that court is expected, and the Supreme Court could eventually revisit the issue.
The delay comes after Smith asked the Supreme Court in December to rule on whether Trump can be prosecuted on charges related to his efforts to overturn the 2020 election results. I was disappointed.
