Biden campaign boasts best grassroots fundraising in January

President Biden’s reelection team had its best month of grassroots fundraising in January since its inception, the campaign first told The Hill.

The campaign doubled the number of grassroots donors who donated through the JoeBiden.com website alone from December to January, which was the driving force behind last month’s increase.

He also said that Biden’s write-in initiative win in New Hampshire’s Democratic primary brought strong grassroots enthusiasm for the campaign.

“Every month, Team Biden-Harris continues to demonstrate strong, early action. It’s a testament to our strong grassroots program and our coalition rallying around this election.” Deputy Campaign Manager Rob Flaherty told The Hill.

According to the campaign, more than 130,000 persistent donors have pledged to donate monthly, nearly double the amount so far in the 2020 cycle. Additionally, one-third of his total donors are new donors since the 2020 campaign.

His campaign announced last month that it had $117 million on hand, which aides say is the largest amount ever for a Democratic candidate at this point in a campaign. This campaign raised over $97 million in the fourth quarter of 2023.

The news comes as Biden looks to gain momentum in South Carolina’s Democratic primary on Saturday. He has invested heavily in the state, giving the incumbent the boost he needed to win the party’s nomination in 2020.
