Michael Jordan game-worn sneakers fetch $8 million at auction

A collection of sneakers worn by superstar Michael Jordan while winning six NBA championships with the Chicago Bulls has been sold at auction for $8 million, setting a new record for game-worn sneakers. Announced by Sotheby’s.

Six pairs of Air Jordan shoes went on sale Friday, one from each championship series finale in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1996, 1997 and 1998. Sotheby’s called it the Dynasty Collection.

“Its significance stands as a reminder of Michael Jordan’s lasting impact on the world and a tangible representation of his acknowledged legendary status,” Sotheby’s Brahm Wachter said in a statement.
