Viewers of the 2024 Grammy Awards criticized Taylor Swift for ignoring Celine Dion on stage after she won Album of the Year for “Midnight.”
The “Antihero” singer shared warm hugs with collaborators Jack Antonoff and Lana Del Rey before snatching the trophy from the music legend’s hands. She made a surprise appearance at Sunday’s awards ceremony to present the final award of the night.

Others opined that the moment would leave a stain on Swift’s legacy.
“Taylor Swift will never live to ignore Celine Dion at the Grammys.” someone tweeted.
“Taylor Swift doesn’t deserve AOTY and FK-HER for ignoring Celine Dion on stage.” Another person frankly criticized.
Even “The Real Housewives of Potomac” star Candace Dillard had something to say.

Media personality and former “Ellen DeGeneres Show” correspondent Karen Allen also shared her passionate thoughts on the matter.
“I won’t listen to excuses…especially after seeing how Miley is. [Cyrus] performed with Mariah [Carey] At the beginning of the program.this was not the case [Swift’s] This is her first time at the #Grammys, but the fourth time she has won this award.” he wrote.
“The Swifties can poison me or whatever, but when you think about the importance of Celine coming to do this moment, running around that stage hugging each other and ultimately paving the way for this… It’s insane to act like artists aren’t even there.”
On the other hand, many viewers laughed off the situation.
“I snatched the Grammy from Celine like it was a wallet on Canal Street, man.” someone joked.
Some acknowledged the significance of Dion’s participation, as this is the first time he has appeared in public since his battle with stiff person syndrome has weakened him.
“I wasn’t trying to be a hater, I was triumphant in public for the first time in a long time, and Celine Dion handed me the Grammy, and I could barely make eye contact.” someone wrote.
Notably, Swift, 34, belted out Dion’s hit “The Power of Love” when the Canadian superstar, 55, took to the stage for a surprise performance at the awards ceremony. That’s what I sang.
Moments later, Swift and Dion were also spotted hugging and posing for a photo together backstage, quickly quashing any speculation about bad blood.
The Ella Tour performer, who wore a stunning white Schiaparelli haute couture dress to the Los Angeles event held at the Crypto.com Arena, was nominated for six awards and won two awards.
She won Gramophone’s Best Pop Vocal Album and Album of the Year awards for her 2022 LP Midnights. She made history with the latter win as the only artist to win her four times in this category.
During the event, she also announced that her next album, The Tortured Poets Department, will be released on April 19th.
Swift’s representatives did not immediately respond to Page Six’s request for comment.
