Actor and 1980s TV icon Mr. T sprang into action over the weekend, collecting sandbags to hand out to neighbors as winter storm warnings were issued for the West Coast with heavy rain. Ta.
71 year old ex-boyfriend team Starr told KTLA-TV that he was preparing for the upcoming storm by getting sandbags for himself and his neighbors.
The TV icon played on his famous “Pity the Fool” catchphrase when he said: “Always be prepared, Fool!”
Southern California is experiencing heavy rain, with some forecasters predicting it could continue for a week. The storm is expected to begin Saturday and continue into Friday.
Meteorologists call this storm an “atmospheric river.”
The storm is the first major storm this winter to be affected by El Niño, a periodic warming of the eastern Pacific Ocean. California experienced record snowfall last winter, but this season has been relatively dry so far. Water levels have dropped slightly in the state, but this rain should ease that.
By Monday, the state had already broken a 97-year rainfall record as a massive storm flooded the city.
Mr. T was not necessarily popular with his neighbors. When he was living in Chicago’s Lake Forest area in 1987, he said: blown up He cut down more than 100 trees on his property, an action that outraged neighbors.
