Surveillance video showed a mob beating and robbing a woman on a Chicago street, then returning and assaulting her again after people refused to help her.
of tragic incident The incident occurred around 4:20 a.m. on Jan. 31 as the 35-year-old woman was walking along Lawrence Avenue in Jefferson Park on her way to work. Adriana told WLS-TV about the attack.
The video shows a car approaching the woman and four men jumping out and surrounding her. She said they had guns, threatened her and took her property, including her cellphone and wallet.
The victim’s daughter said, “A pistol. The three of them had guns. They pointed at my head and neck.”
Adriana, her husband and their 12-year-old child watched the video of the brutal attack in tears.
Video shows the rioters getting back into their cars and driving away at high speed. The woman tried to stop cars and Chicago Transit buses for help, but no one stopped.
And that’s when it looked like the attackers were back.
The video shows one of the assailants trying to hit her.
“They told her they would shoot her if she didn’t give them the pin,” Adriana’s daughter said. “I thought the next time they came, she would be killed for the same thing.”
Adriana was taken to the hospital and is reported to be in good condition.
She told WLS she has survived by focusing on her husband and daughter.
local residents Said The incident made them fear for their safety.
“I’m worried about that, so now I basically try to stay home after the sun goes down,” Dawn Hughes said.
Police are investigating, but said they have so far received no information on possible suspects.
