A staff member for Marvel Studios’ new series “Wonder Man” has died in an accident on set.
A rigger who worked at Radford Studios in Studio City died today after falling off a catwalk, according to Deadline. The male staff member who reportedly died on set was working on set, but the series was not being filmed. Details of the accident have not been revealed.
IATSE, the union representing thousands of workers behind the scenes in film, television and theater, released a statement to Fox News Digital from its president, Matthew D. Loeb.
“The entire IA family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We are working to support our member’s family, as well as his peers and colleagues,” Loeb said. . “Safety on set is our top priority and we will assist Cal/OSHA with their investigation in any way possible.”

In a statement to Deadline, Marvel Studios said, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to his family and friends, and our support stands behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.” Ta.

A representative for Radford Studio Center in Studio City, California, told Fox News Digital they had “no comment” on the incident.

According to Deadline, Wonder Man is scheduled to begin production next month after delays caused by last summer’s writers’ and actors’ strike.
“Wonder Man” stars “Aquaman” alum Yahya Abdul-Mateen II as Simon Williams, the titular superhero.

According to Variety, the comic book version of Simon Williams is the son of a wealthy businessman whose company has been bankrupted by Stark Industries, run by Tony Stark (played by Robert Downey Jr. in the Marvel films).

Having lost his company, he turns to the villain Baron Zemo, who gives Simon superpowers and instructs him to work with the Avengers and then betray them. However, Simon changed his mind and he joined the team.
