I would love to come back and represent America just one more time. Just to have that feeling of being a part of something. It’s great to be part of the team again. And it’s a great honor.”
The 28-year-old gymnast is scheduled to compete at the Winter Cup in Louisville, Kentucky, later this month, which will be Douglas’ first appearance since the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio.

Eight years later, she was inspired to compete again while watching the 2022 championships and is looking to add more hardware to her trophy case.
“I was like, ‘I miss the game,'” Douglas recalled. “I was wondering what to do…I’m still a competitor at heart. I’m trying to figure out a way to take this away from me. I decided to start training my back. My time.
