Biden appears to forget Hamas’ name

President Biden appeared lost during a recent press conference, forgetting even the name Hamas, sparking fresh alarm.

The oldest U.S. president in history was asked about ongoing hostage negotiations between terrorist organizations and Israel on Tuesday after delivering a speech promoting new border security legislation.

“There’s some movement, but I don’t want to, I don’t want to…” the 81-year-old commander-in-chief said, stopping and staring blankly ahead.

“Let me choose my words. There was some movement and…reaction. Um…” he said, stopping again as he stared ahead with the same confused expression.

“There was a reaction… from the opposition, but uh…” he said.

Looking confused about what to say, Biden suddenly looked up to his left as he received some much-needed guidance.

“Yes, sorry from Hamas,” he says of the terrorist group behind the war with Israel, a key ally of the United States.

Dean Phillips, who is challenging the president for the Democratic nomination, was among those who watched the video and could not contain his horror.

“I’ve been attacked for being honest and saying out loud the quiet parts, the parts that D.C. insiders only do in private,” he said. Posted in X.

“I respect the president. I voted for him and campaigned for him. He visited my home and was kind to my family and our country. .

“But shame on all of you for pretending everything is okay,” Phillips continued. “You are leading us, and him, into disaster, and you know it very well.”

Sky News US correspondent Mark Stone also described the apparent gaffe as “an extremely tough moment”.

“He clearly couldn’t remember the word ‘Hamas’ and had to be prompted by members of the media who were in the White House,” Stone said. told the British network.

“This is not the first time. He has stumbled over his words many times over the past few years. I think people, for better or worse, see it as more than just a stuttering problem,” he said. pointed out.

“This kind of thing happens a lot, but I think it’s a reflection of his age.”

“So many people in the United States and abroad are concerned that this person is incapable of fighting this brutal upcoming election.”

Biden is already the oldest serving president, and if elected for another four years, he would retire at the age of 86.

But Stone said, “Donald Trump, the man he’s likely to run against, is older and seems to be confusing things.”

“That means there are older people on both sides who are the front-runners to become the next president of the United States. This is quite a situation.”
