NFL players attending the Super Bowl will need to be prepared to respond to any media questions that may come their way. But Brock Purdy clearly didn’t see this coming.
On Tuesday, as the 49ers QB sat answering questions from reporters, one reporter asked him if he was aware of some internet chatter claiming he bore a particular resemblance to notorious presidential assassin Lee Harvey Oswald. Ta.
“Um, uh, I don’t know,” Purdy stammered uncomfortably. “I’ve never heard of it. This is the first time I’ve heard it.”

An X user named Josh Chavis posted a side-by-side comparison of Purdy and Oswald. And…you are the judge.
“Oh my god. For the past two years, I’ve been trying to figure out who Brock Purdy looks like, and it’s Lee Harvey Oswald.”

Fortunately for Purdy, after the bizarre historical derailment, the conversation returned to football. Of course, there are other great reasons to discuss Purdy this week. He was called “Mr. Irrelevant,” the last pick in the draft, and he went on to become the starting quarterback in the Super Bowl. Most importantly, he is a great man of God in a part of this country that is struggling with the direction of religion. To say the least.
The Chiefs and 49ers will face off in the Super Bowl on Sunday, February 11th.
