A mother of two from Kentucky is warning others about the harrowing experience she had at a Bahamian resort during a Carnival cruise.
Longtime friends Amber Shearer and Donguilla Dobson went on a child-free vacation earlier this month. While on a Carnival cruise, the two went to the beach in Grand Bahama on Sunday.
The Kentucky mothers said they were relaxing on a beach in Freeport when resort staff offered them a two-for-one deal. Around noon, the two ordered pineapple and coconut drinks each and posed for photos with the tropical libations.

But the next thing Shearer remembered was waking up to be assaulted by a uniformed male resort employee.

Women claimed local authorities failed to administer proper sexual assault test kits
Upon returning to the Carnival cruise ship, the women underwent rape tests. They also underwent a breathalyzer test, which revealed they had little or no alcohol in their system. However, toxicology tests revealed that they had drugs such as benzodiazepines in their bodies.
Police identified two male suspects suspected of sexual assault from surveillance footage. Both men were employees of the resort, one of whom had reportedly only been working there for about a week.
