Kelce admitted he and other teammates have used the Patriots’ motivation to win their third Super Bowl in the past five seasons.

trying to keep the band together

The Chiefs still have a game left this season, but that doesn’t mean general manager Brett Veach isn’t still looking to the future.

Veach told reporters that his biggest goal this offseason is to keep defensive lineman Chris Jones and defensive back Rajarius Snead in Kansas City.

Both are free agents.

“Sometimes we look at our situation and think, ‘I don’t know how to do this,’ but we usually approach things in a planned way and have a list of priorities.” Veitch said. “Certainly, Chris and LJ are at the top of the list. There are two keystone players there, so it’s very difficult.”

Lead Mom talks about the future of coaching

Andy Reid continues to answer questions about whether he might retire and “come out on top” after the Super Bowl.

Asked Thursday if that was how he felt or if he had already decided to come back for next season, he said: I don’t think about it. I’m tied to the game, so I’m trying to handle it. I’m sure you’ll know the time somewhere. Not today, and probably not Sunday. ”

Alarm sounds at 49ers hotel

The 49ers are a serious team and don’t need a wake-up call to get ready to face the Chiefs in Super Bowl LVIII, but they got one early Thursday morning.

An alarm went off around 6 a.m. at the 49ers’ team hotel, the Hilton Lake Las Vegas Resort & Spa, and continued to sound for nearly 10 minutes.

Hotel management was able to quickly determine that it was a false alarm, and the entire 49ers players, coaches, and traveling group did not have to leave their rooms.

The 49ers are unhappy with the soft grass practice field they are using at UNLV this week, creating less-than-ideal conditions for the big game.

Campbell of Atlanta receives award

Falcons defensive end Calais Campbell has been named the 2024 Alan Page Community Award recipient by the NFL Players Association.

The NFLPA will donate $100,000 to the Campbell CRC Foundation, named after Campbell’s late father, a nonprofit that teaches life skills to young people.

“It is always an honor to receive such a prestigious award,” said Campbell. “I think there are a lot of people in this union, a lot of our members from across the league, who are great people who do a lot of good in their communities, and a lot of them are deserving people. ‘Well, and all the people who came before me, I always try to follow in their footsteps and do my best to help the community. ”
