Wendy’s worker punches drive-thru customer through car window — then steals car, hits victim with car, bites 2 cops: Police

Earlier this week, police said an employee at a Wendy’s in the St. Louis area physically attacked a drive-thru customer after an argument. KPLR TV reported –But that’s not half of the suspect’s charges.

The employee allegedly punched a customer through the driver’s side window, stole the victim’s car, returned to the scene, hit the victim with his car, and bit two police officers.

Then there was the issue of the hammer.

Police in Overland, about 20 minutes northwest of St. Louis, went to a restaurant in the 8900 block of Page Avenue on Monday after receiving a report of a fight. KPLR TV reported.

Police said the victim told officers he got into an argument with an employee in the drive-thru lane.

According to the victim, the employee, later identified as 27-year-old Leon S. Johnson, exited the restaurant and began punching the employee through an open car window. KMOV TV reported.

According to KPLR, the victim told police that he grabbed a hammer from his car and began waving it at Johnson to force him to back up. He added that he got into his car and drove away.

KSDK-TV reportedCiting court documents, Johnson said he immediately returned to the restaurant and struck the customer with his car, knocking the hammer out of the customer’s hand. Johnson then got out of the car, picked up a hammer and began hitting the car’s windshield, KSDK added. According to the KPLR report, Johnson allegedly hit the victim with a hammer.

Police told KSDK that the customer suffered “a laceration to his lip and multiple bruises to his face.” The officer added that Johnson admitted to stealing the victim’s car and hitting her with it. KSDK added that police said Johnson bit two officers who tried to arrest him.According to jail records, the arrest was made just after 9 p.m.

KSDK added that it is unclear what the victim and Johnson were arguing about.

The St. Louis County Prosecutor’s Office charged Johnson with first-degree assault, first-degree criminal tampering with a motor vehicle, third-degree assault, second-degree criminal damage to property, felony resisting arrest, and two counts of fourth-degree assault. said KSDK, adding that all charges are felonies.

KSDK noted that Johnson was jailed on a $500,000 cash-limited bail. He remained in jail as of Friday morning.
