A Texas mother has been arrested on suspicion of torturing her children, including trying to put her 3-year-old daughter into a hot oven.
According to an arrest affidavit obtained by FOX 4, Lulu Topp, 36, was arrested on January 8th after her five children were taken into custody at her family’s rental home in the Dallas suburb of Allen, Texas. ,arrested.
The woman’s children, ages 3, 6, 9 and 10, reportedly told Child Protective Services that Topp regularly “tortured” them to find alcohol.
Authorities said the children had scars that “looked like they were cut with a knife,” and both children said their mother had used a knife to cut them.

The 10-year-old also said his mother tried to put his 3-year-old brother in a hot oven and he had to physically resist her to take the child upstairs to hide.
A 4-year-old child also said he witnessed the incident, according to the affidavit.
One boy told detectives that his mother once held a knife to his tongue.
The boy also said his mother gave him alcohol, which he vomited, according to the affidavit.

The children told investigators that Topp threatened to kill everyone with a kitchen knife and that the children hid the knife so their mother wouldn’t threaten him, according to the affidavit.

On Thursday, February 8, Topp was forcibly removed from his home.
Neighbors captured video of the standoff with SWAT and her eventual arrest at her home.
In footage of the top suspect’s arrest, police can be heard shouting into a loudspeaker: “Come out with your hands up.”
Topp hid in the attic of the home for an hour before finally coming out, according to the affidavit.

Neighbor William Whitney told FOX 4 there were “strange things happening all the time” at Topp’s home.
“Strange things always happen there. The police were always there,” he said. “I saw kids playing alone in the back without supervision. And to know that that was actually happening is sad. It’s really sad.”

Neighbors said the family began renting the house about a year ago.
Allen police said a knife found in the home was taken into evidence when the top suspect was arrested.
Topp is charged with six felony counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. She is currently being held in the Collin County Jail with bail set at $600,000.
