White House criticizes Hur report as ‘gratuitous and inappropriate’

The White House on Friday sought to discredit special counsel Robert Hur’s findings that raised new questions about President Biden’s mental acuity.

Oversight and Investigations Press Secretary Ian Sams said the report revealed wrongdoing related to Biden’s handling of classified documents, but that Huh described the president as “sympathetic and well-meaning.” He harshly criticized him for calling him “an old man with a bad memory.”

“Unfortunately, the unwarranted statements made by the former attorney general have rightly gotten everyone’s attention,” Sams told reporters at the daily White House press briefing. “They are wrong and inaccurate.”

Mr. Xu has been investigating Mr. Biden’s improper retention of classified records since last year, and on Thursday released a report detailing his findings. “The report provides example after example of how the president intentionally withheld classified documents. The report describes how the president did not share classified documents with anyone. The report explains how the president intentionally did not share classified information with anyone,” Sams told reporters. “As I’m sure you’ve all read, the report alleges on page two that the president intentionally kept the material, but it was buried much later, on page 215.
