Ex-RNC chair says Republican committee ‘remarkably different’ now

Gov. Marc Racicot (R-Mont.), a former Republican National Committee (RNC) chairman, said Saturday that the committee is “significantly different” now than it was when he was chairman. .

“[T]”The fact that virtually every member of the party is flocking to worship in Donald Trump’s temple indicates that there is something markedly different today than what I experienced from 2001 to 2003.” said Racicot, who served as RNC chief.of interview on MSNBC’s “The Weekend.”

Racicot’s comments come as multiple news outlets reported earlier this week that current chairwoman Ronna McDaniel may leave the post after the South Carolina primary. He is reportedly under pressure from other party officials unhappy with the party’s direction and finances ahead of the 2024 elections. A loom appears.

“[M]I think there are probably areas of performance that the Rona doesn’t quite address. And I think that’s probably the case, but this is just a guess, [Democratic National Committee] We’re way ahead of the RNC,” Racicot said.

Former President Trump said in an interview last Sunday that he expected to see “some changes” regarding the RNC chairman.

“I think she did great when she ran in Michigan for me. I think she did well at the RNC initially,” Trump told Fox News about McDaniel. “At this point, I think there will probably be some changes made.”

In the same interview, President Trump was asked about the Democrats’ advantage over the Republicans, to which he replied, “I have a lot of money.”

“And with the money they’re making, people aren’t paying attention to the RNC. They want change. I — please understand, I have nothing to do with the RNC. I’m not, I’m separate,” Trump said.
