What appears to be AJ Brown’s X account is having an interesting Super Bowl.
It all started after Travis Kelce yelled at Chiefs coach Andy Reid during Sunday’s 2024 Super Bowl, when the account (@1kalwaysopen_) returned from more than a month of hibernation to post. That was it.
‘If it was me, I would have been kicked out of the league’ – controversial Eagles receiver tweeted.
The tweet received a huge response, with at least 2,700 retweets and 15,000 likes.
Just 18 minutes later, the account posted a new message claiming it no longer belonged to Brown.
“This is a fake AJ Brown page. I’m just a fan. I’m not trying to embarrass him with what I say lol.” Post read.
The account then doubled down on its claims after Eagles cornerback Darius Slay claimed to have spoken to Brown and the wide receiver did not post a tweet about Kelce’s reaction.
“Talk to AJ not him,” Slay tweeted.
The person who appears to be quoting the Brown account tweeted the comment with the following caption: “Tell him I’ll give you the page back to get an autographed jersey 🙏🏾”
It’s certainly possible that the account no longer belongs to Brown, since he deactivated it before the Eagles lost to the Buccaneers in the wild-card round.
The account hadn’t posted since January 10, five days before the game, but three tweets appeared during the 2024 Super Bowl.
Slay’s tweet also lends credibility to the argument.
Or perhaps Brown is trying to cover his tracks and show that he was hacked or lost control of his account.
In any case, the account certainly captivated some viewers, and continued to be viewed for more than a month, which is unusual for a star receiver.
He suffered an injury in Week 18 and was sidelined in the loss to the Buccaneers, and in addition to deactivating his X account, he also removed references to the Eagles from his Instagram account.
There are some trade rumors floating around.
The first tweet from the account was posted after Kelce unloaded on Reed by running him off the field before a potentially game-changing fumble.
Following a 52-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes to Mecole Hardman, Isaiah Pacheco took the handoff and ran toward the end zone for a first-and-goal from the 9-yard line, but chased the ball down.
Kelce was on the sideline on this play, with reserve Noah Gray providing blocking duties.
Gray was unable to stop 49ers defensive back Deomodore Lenoir from throwing the ball loose.
The 49ers then jumped on the ball and forced a key turnover while holding a 3-0 advantage.

Kelce screamed and slammed into Reed, and CBS Sports reporter Tracy Wolfson reported that the 34-year-old threw his helmet at him.
In the end, the Chiefs failed to score a touchdown in the first half and entered halftime with a 10-3 deficit.
Kelce and Reid eventually embraced it.
