Massive St. John’s game vs. Providence postponed by weather

St. John’s will spend one more day in Providence preparing for what is almost a must-win game.

The Johnny’s contest against the struggling Flyers was postponed by a day due to a winter storm expected to dump more than a foot of snow in the area, officials said.

The team was bused Monday afternoon for a game originally scheduled for Tuesday at 7 p.m.

The game will be played Wednesday at Amica Mutual Pavilion.

St. John’s has lost six of its past eight games and is currently on the bad side of the NCAA Tournament bubble, according to most bracketologists.

In Saturday’s game against No. 4 Market, the Johnnies held a 15-point lead late in the first half, but following a season-long pattern of inconsistent second-half performances against top teams, they trailed by 20 after halftime. was given.

A victory over fellow bubble team Providence, which St. John’s defeated (14-10, 6-7) at the Garden on Jan. 10, would be an important win and its third in Quad 1.
