3 multimillion-dollar homes teetering on edge of California cliff after landslide, footage shows

Three multimillion-dollar mansions appear to be teetering off the edge of a California cliff after recent landslides eroded what was once their backyard, according to video taken by a local news helicopter.

Heavy rains wash away part of a cliff that houses a luxury home estimated to be worth up to $15.9 million, video shows. Captured by ABC7 helicopter is shown.

A large pile of dirt, sand, and rocks sits at the base of a beach cliff below the homes at the top of Scenic Drive in Dana Point.

“If I lived in a house like that, I would be worried,” Dana Point resident Jean Cocchiara told local news outlets. “We don’t know if the hill has been damaged by development.”

But the city of Dana Point inspected all three homes and found no unsafe conditions, ABC7 reported.
