Jon Feliciano accidentally throws 49ers teammate under bus

John Feliciano was so hungover that he became a self-proclaimed “bh” and unintentionally threw his teammates under the bus.

In an attempt to defend 49ers right tackle Colton Mackiewicz from responsibility for Chris Jones’ game-changing free rush that forced San Francisco to make a field goal in overtime, Feliciano said right guard Spencer Burford He made it clear in “X” that he neglected Brock’s mission. play.

Burford didn’t appreciate Feliciano’s shift in blame and responded to him with an X, and Feliciano, a former Giants offensive lineman, subsequently flagged himself as a bad teammate.

“I’m sorry, brother. I woke up hungover and had abs. I hurt you trying to get it back.” Feliciano tweeted. “I’m sorry for causing you trouble. Only greatness awaits you. I’m sorry, hyung.”

The drama revolves around the 49ers’ third-down play in overtime.

If the 49ers had scored a touchdown on that play, the game likely would have ended differently.

In overtime, on third-and-4 at the Chiefs’ own 9-yard line, Jones somehow made a free rush on quarterback Brock Purdy, forcing him to shoot incomplete.

Without the immediate rush, Purdy likely would have found an open Brandon Aiyuk or Jauan Jennings for a touchdown.

It’s safe to assume that the 49ers’ plans did not call for Jones, the Chiefs’ best defensive lineman, to be unblocked during the play.

A 49ers fan account showed a clip of the play and called out Mackiewicz as Jones ran right past him on the tackle with his left hand just out.

“We have one of the best players in the game lined up in front of Colton McKiewicz and he decides to give Brock Purdy a free rush…it’s disgusting.” Posted by a fan.

And this is where everything went wrong for Feliciano.

Feliciano jumped on X around 9 a.m. PT and defended Mackiewicz by tweeting a quote from the aforementioned post.

“You think you know everything, so you should know he’s not Colton’s guy…” he posted.

Yet another fan asked who should have blocked Jones, Interrupt Jones with a chop block.

And it was here that Feliciano unintentionally revealed that Burford should have handled Jones on the play.

Former Giants offensive lineman Jeff Schwartz I got it.four of the 49ers’ linemen went left on the play, clearing the way for Jones.

“If the guy who was supposed to block him blocks him, you don’t need a quick chop.” Feliciano tweeted.

Burford saw the tweet and found Feliciano’s comments problematic.

“Shhh…this is what happens when I open the app…I hope you get better soon…” he tweeted.

And that’s when Feliciano realized he had failed.

The offense between the teammates was in stark contrast to Travis Kelce and the Chiefs’ night out after their 2024 Super Bowl win, when even Jason Kelce had the time of his life.
