Naomi Campbell creates clean-cut Boss range with nod to her germophobia | Naomi Campbell

Naomi Campbell’s affinity for looking good while staying germ-free is no secret, as she was once photographed wearing a hazmat suit and a $3,000 Burberry lambswool scarf at the airport.

But now she Debut collection of fashion brand “Boss” It features items with an anti-bacterial finish, an ironic nod to Campbell’s germaphobia.

The supermodel has partnered with the German business on a 40-piece clothing collection ranging from £60 to £745, ranging from everything from suits to sweatpants, inspired by Campbell’s “fast-paced lifestyle”.

“These are works that reflect my own lifestyle,” Campbell said in exclusive comments to the Guardian. “Always on the move, always ready for the next adventure, but never compromising on style.”

She wore a sheer Alaïa catsuit and posed on the Met Gala steps in a Valentino Couture feathered cape. Because the assistant provoked herCampbell’s Boss’s debut collection Aimed at commuters looking for practical items.

In 2019, a video of the British supermodel wearing latex gloves and antibacterial wipes to clean a business class seat on a flight to Dubai went viral. Later in the pandemic, she was photographed walking through an airport wearing a white hooded protective suit and a face mask.

Although Campbell is more used to flying on private jets than commercial airlines, she’s still getting used to the curse of wrinkled clothes while traveling. As a result, she specified during the design process that the double-breasted jacket and matching pants would be made from stretch-filled wool with a wrinkle-resistant treatment.

There’s also a pair of figure-hugging black leggings and a matching long-sleeve top inspired by Campbell’s own travel compression wear uniform, which she says helps improve blood circulation. Blazer and waistcoat pockets are lined with a special fabric that blocks electromagnetic waves and prevents contactless card fraud.

Elsewhere, a two-piece loungewear set consisting of a funnel-neck hoodie and loose-fitting track pants covered in a leopard-print motif in purple or ivory is on sale. According to Campbell, it has “proven anti-stress effects and promotes a sense of zen and balance.” And just in case you forget who the real “boss” is, T’s shirts and hoodies feature autographed prints of Campbell’s face.

Campbell, who was appointed ambassador for Hugo Boss spin-off brand Boss in 2022, has led several campaigns for the brand. The collection marks a transition to a new co-creator role, which Campbell said will allow him to “explore a whole new side of my art.”

This isn’t the first time the 53-year-old has stepped into the role of a fashion designer. Last year, Campbell was widely criticized for collaborating on an 82-piece collection with fast fashion brand Pretty Little Thing (PLT), a subsidiary of British company Boohoo Group.

Campbell’s collection for Boss, whose parent company celebrates its 100th anniversary this year, follows a previous sold-out partnership with the NFL. Kirby Lame, a 23-year-old Senegalese-born Italian social media personality who holds the title of having amassed the most followers in the world on TikTok. It’s all part of a broader brand revamp bosses are undertaking, pivoting away from formal suits to appeal to younger consumers.

This year is shaping up to be a big one for Campbell. In June, the V&A will be holding an exhibition called Naomi, dedicated to the Croydon-born model. This will be the first time that the model will be the focus of an exhibition at the museum.
