The NFL offseason got off to an ominous start with a heated war of words between 49ers guard Jonathan Feliciano and Eagles defensive lineman Jalen Carter.
The story goes that Feliciano unblocked Chiefs pass rusher Chris Jones in the 2024 Super Bowl, forcing linemate Spencer Burford to stop the Niners’ drive and settle for a field goal. It started when I blamed it.
Feliciano later apologized for this comment.
“I’m sorry, brother. I woke up hungover and had abs. I hurt you trying to get it back.” Feliciano tweeted. “I’m sorry for being disrespectful. Only greatness awaits you. I’m sorry, hyung.”
Carter saw the news and reacted by laying serious charges against Feliciano on his Instagram Story.
“This is the same guy who told me about my deceased teammate and why I got emotional during the game,” Carter wrote.
Feliciano disputed Carter’s sequence of events.
“The man told me three times that he was going to kill me and that my children would never see me again because I was laughing at him after I got the flag…I… I said I believe you have a dead body. Then he kept posting about my family for weeks and contacted my friends,” Feliciano wrote on X on Tuesday night. .
After Georgia’s 2023 national championship, Carter was racing a Jeep Trackhawk with the Georgia football staff when the other vehicle collided with him, killing Bulldogs teammate Devin Willock and the team staff. Chandler LeCroy has died.
Last March, Carter pleaded no contest to charges of reckless driving and racing and was sentenced to a $1,000 fine, one year of probation, and 80 hours of community service.
