On Tuesday, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer asserted that President Biden’s mental strength is “amazing” and called claims to the contrary “right-wing propaganda.”
The New York Democrat was asked at a press conference whether the 81-year-old president had the mental capacity to seek a second term. Schumer dismissed any politically motivated concerns, insisting that Biden’s mental health was “good” and “as good as ever.”
“I talk to President Biden regularly, sometimes a few times a week, usually a few times a week. His mental acuity is great. It’s okay, it’s as good as it’s been in years. “I’ve always done that.” “I’ve been talking to him for 30 years, ever since I worked on the Brady bill and the assault weapons ban when I was a young congressman. And he — he’s fine. All of the right-wing propaganda that people are mentally impaired is wrong,” Schumer said. .

Media focus on Biden’s age and mental health impacting election chances after damning special counsel report
Questions surrounding Biden’s memory came to the fore after special counsel Robert Hur released his investigation report on Thursday into allegations that Biden mishandled classified documents while he was a civilian.
Mr. Hur, who was appointed by Attorney General Merrick Garland to investigate Mr. Biden’s handling of classified documents, said the jury found Mr. Biden “a sympathetic, well-meaning old man with a poor memory.” Despite admitting that they were “intentionally” obtained by Biden as both.

Biden’s press conference later that day sent chatter about the findings into a frenzy. The president appeared defensive and combative to reporters, disputed Xu’s findings, and even upset the presidents of Mexico and Egypt with now-publicized gaffes.
Since then, many Democrats have defended Biden’s mental acuity, claiming his memory is “strong.”
Media erupts over scathing report raising questions about Biden’s mental strength: “This is ageism”
“I can teach you [Biden] He was as incisive as anyone I’ve ever spoken to on the extremely complex geopolitical imperative of Hamas terrorist attacks. And it showed me that he talked to all the relevant leaders of all these countries,” Rep. Dan Goldman (D.N.Y.) said of Ho’s report, ” His mastery and command of a complex geopolitical situation was just amazing.” Impeccable, so I don’t know what happened there. ”

“This is a guy who’s playing his game,” argued Rep. Debbie Dingell, D-Michigan.
Since the report was released, polls have found that a majority of Americans (86%) think Biden is too old to be president. This included 73% of Democrats.
