Travis Kelce ‘crossed the line’ with Andy Reid blowup: Jason Kelce

Jason Kelce scolded his brother Travis for his verbal abuse with Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid during the 2024 Super Bowl.

The second quarter saw Travis lose his cool as he left the field on a fumble by Isaac Pacheco and the 49ers recovered.

He agreed that he had gone too far.

“I can’t get excited enough to bump into the coach and lose my balance,” Travis said. “When he stumbled, I thought in his head, ‘Oh, it’s gone.'”

During the altercation, Travis yelled at Reed and then punched him with enough force to cause him to stumble.

Running back Jerick McKinnon quickly grabbed Kelce and pulled him away.

A 52-yard pass from Patrick Mahomes to Mecole Hardman brought the Chiefs to the 49ers’ own 9-yard line, but Kelce became upset and left the field.

Reserve Noah Gray was unable to block the play, and 49ers defensive back Deomodore Lenoir deflected the ball from Pacheco.

Jason and Travis both discussed the emotions running high on the field.

“I love you, Reid,” he said. “Coach Reid knows how much I love playing for him and how much I love being a product of his coaching career. I’m not playing for anyone else. If he says he’s not going to do it this year, I’ll be there with him.”

“I have a certain relationship with him,” he continued. “He checked on me a few times and wanted to let me know that I wanted this and he could put it on me and I got him. .”
