FBI Director Christopher Wray made an unannounced visit to Israel and sat in on an intelligence meeting before speaking to Fox News.
Ray’s visit will be his first on the ground in Israel since the Oct. 7 attack on Hamas.
The FBI director met with officials from Israel’s Shin Bet (Israeli intelligence agency) and other organizations. He spoke to Fox News before boarding a plane to leave for Germany to attend the Munich Security Conference, where he will speak on Thursday.
“We have seen rogue groups from foreign terrorist organizations express support and admiration for Hamas attacks and threaten to attack U.S. interests at home and abroad,” Wray said. “We are working with all partners to confront the growing threat landscape, including the October 7 Hamas attack and, more broadly, the threat posed by Iran and Hezbollah. I would like to add that this is also included.

“We’ve learned a lot” about the information the FBI has collected since Oct. 7, Wray added. “The exchange of information between our two countries has been excellent as well. Like many of our close allies, we are all working together in a shared determination to combat the scourge of terrorism.”
Mr. Wray also spoke about the FBI’s role in protecting Americans in Israel and Gaza.
“The FBI will continue to work around the clock to support investigative and recovery efforts to provide support and services to U.S. attack victims and their families, and to identify and stop additional threats as we emerge. “We are working together in a system. From conflict,” he said.
“I would like to express my unwavering support and commitment to Israel’s law enforcement and intelligence partners in the wake of the horrific terrorist attack carried out by Hamas against innocent civilians on October 7,” Ray said. I feel it is important to travel to meet with them in the land of Israel.” And secondly, we are working closely together, and this cannot be overstated, because we are working closely with partners in Israel and around the world to investigate these attacks. ”

“Some of our FBI employees here in Israel have literally not taken a day off since October 7th. I am proud of the incredible support our team has provided to our partners during this dark time. “The partnership between the FBI and its Israeli counterparts has been close and solid for many years,” he said. “Whenever we meet and talk, and we do it all the time, we are trying to bring together countries that share values and share a common commitment to the rule of law, across the full spectrum of common threats. It’s going to be a very substantive conversation.”

“We are confident that the closeness of our agency contributed to our ability to respond quickly to these attacks and ensure support as seamless as possible,” he said. “My hope is that today’s meeting with Israeli intelligence and law enforcement partners, as well as FBI and U.S. embassy officials, demonstrates the Israel Agency’s continued commitment to these partners and that we will continue to work together. The goal is to help identify further ways to solve the problem and protect people around the world from terrorism. ”
