FBI asking public for tips, videos of Kansas City Super Bowl parade shooting

The FBI is working with authorities in Kansas City, Missouri, and is asking for the public’s help in investigating a mass shooting that occurred after Wednesday’s Super Bowl victory celebration for the Chiefs.

Kansas City Police Chief Stacey Graves announced in an update Wednesday that three people were taken into custody and a firearm was recovered in connection with the shooting. No suspects have been named and authorities have not provided details about a possible motive.

After the shootout broke out, videos and images of the chaotic scene quickly spread across social media platforms, showing fans wearing Red Chiefs running away from gunfire and a large law enforcement response.

It is estimated that more than 800 law enforcement officers and at least 1 million fans attended the event celebrating the team’s consecutive NFL championships.

“We are truly saddened by the senseless act of violence that occurred outside Union Station at the end of today’s parade and rally,” the Chiefs organization said in a statement. “Our hearts go out to the victims, their families, and everyone in Kansas City.”
