Tiger Woods’ Mamba mentality “killer” trash talk detailed by PGA Tour pros

Tiger Woods is an absolute legend on the PGA Tour and one of the most competitive athletes I’ve ever met. He loves trash-talking, and the PGA Tour sat down with several competitors to discuss it ahead of this week’s Genesis Invitational.

At first it was about “what it’s like to get an email from Tiger,” but eventually they moved on to explaining how competitive and unique the Big Cats are.

Players on the tour included Jason Day, Rickie Fowler, Max Homa, Xander Schauffele, Tony Finau, Justin Thomas, and Davis Love III. shine light on.

“I still think of it as a competitor. He likes to attack you and always says things that make you uncomfortable,” Homa said.

He makes no attempt to soften the blow. That too will come out the way he wants. Woods loves to seduce players, especially players like Thomas.

“At the end of 2017, as you know, I had my best season on the Tour, winning five times,” Thomas said. “We won the FedEx Cup, we won the majors. One of the first emails I got when it was over was from Tiger, and he said, ‘Congratulations, make it nine more. That’s what I’ve done in my career.’ was” “

To Day, Woods is outspoken and loves to point out his mistakes.

“Sometimes it’s like, ‘Hey, great job,’ and other times it’s like, ‘What are you doing in that hole?'” Day said. “I’m sitting there and I’m like, ‘Dude, I’m trying to do my best.'” I didn’t mean to hit a tree. ” Then I sit down and ask him questions. “Hey, what would you do in that situation? ” It feels like an open invitation. ”

The bottom line is that Woods is insanely competitive. He has the same killer instinct as Kobe Bryant, the “Mamba mentality” of winning at all costs.

Woods loves to infuriate his fellow players on the PGA Tour and has continued to do so throughout his career.

However, some people have seen small changes in recent years.

“Tiger doesn’t really let anything surface. Whether he plays badly or plays well, he’ll tell you what it’s like,” Fowler said. “Going from being a 100% competitor, looking at the evolution of the last eight, 10 years, wanting to kill you on the golf course, to offer some of his knowledge and share it with other players.” That’s what I thought.”

Nearing age 50, the 15-time major champion is starting to share his wisdom, but only to a select few.

No one, regardless of age, can dislodge a competitor from Woods. He will always trash talk and intimidate his competitors. Woods’ record 82 on the PGA Tour is all about that “W.”
