Neighbors describe gruesome scene after man allegedly attacks his sister and mother with a machete in Houston

A Texas man allegedly attacked his sister and mother with a machete, and neighbors said the victims were found by police in a pool of blood.

The incident occurred around 10 a.m. Wednesday morning at the Vista at Westchase Apartments in Houston.

Houston police say they responded to a report of a man slashing two women and found a man barricaded in an apartment. In the end, the man surrendered to the police.

Kiara Bailey said she went outside and found the injured teen on the ground.

“I kept hearing cries of ‘help, help,'” she said. “So I immediately went home and called an ambulance. They told me to put pressure on it, but there were so many puncture wounds that I couldn’t even put pressure on it.”

Jamia Hadi told KPRC that the man had a second knife in addition to the machete.

“It was a hand knife that stuck in my hand,” she said. “And you can also sting something. He used one of those.”

KPRC said the sisters went to a neighbor’s house for help and found bloody footprints.

“They were seriously injured. They had deep lacerations down their forearms,” ​​said Eric Taylor, another neighbor.

“She kept saying her brother did it. Her brother did it. He’s in the house. He went into the house,” Bailey continued.

Neighbors said the standoff between the man and the SWAT team lasted about an hour.

Houston police announced that he will be charged with aggravated assault.

“I saw him covered in blood, covered in blood, just covered in blood. And he came out like nothing happened,” Pamela Cunningham said.
