Candace Cameron Bure, best known for her role as DJ Tanner on ABC’s Full House, is no stranger to the overwhelming pressure of Hollywood’s impossible and harmful beauty standards.
Bure is now back in the entertainment industry, and while she loves her “fitness routine” and “healthy eating,” she knows where to draw the line.
“I think there was an unrealistic and unhealthy beauty standard in the entertainment industry that I had to fight against,” Allie Beth Stuckey says.
“I still feel that way,” Bure admits, citing “the Ozempic craze” as one of the areas he’s currently struggling with.
“I’m like, ‘Should I go to Ozempic?'” do not have “I’m going to go to Ozempic, but the standards are so high and I’m in front of the camera all day, so these things go through my mind,” she continued, adding, “A lot of the pressure comes from things like: he added. [herself].
Bure has been open about her former eating disorder, saying that although she has been able to manage it for “20 years”, she still “has to constantly battle it”.
“I have the tools to help,” she says.
Before making a decision, “I remind myself of how I feel, all the possible physical characteristics,” and “how is my stomach feeling?” Are your eyes and face sore and swollen? ”
“I was a bulimic for a long time, so I remind myself of the terrible things I felt and the consequences,” she says, adding that this method is a “snap.” [her] Please come back to reality. ”
When it comes to exercise, Bure focuses on:[feeling] Strong, healthy, and “all those endorphins” that help “cleanse.” [her] Please take care.
“My fitness journey is really about mental health,” she says.
She also looks to her Christian faith to guide her through these inner battles.
“My prayer life is pretty strong because I’m in continuous dialogue with God,” she tells Ally. “It helps if we constantly pray to God to draw the Holy Spirit into our hearts and renew our minds.”
