Here’s what a real Black Lives Matter movement would sound like

Recent reports on the impact of gun violence on Black Americans are yet another reminder that the main problem with Black Lives Matter is its ideology, not its shady financial practices.

The Brady Center to Prevent Gun Violence found that black people account for 61% of firearms. murder The number of victims is 14% of the population. Homicide is the number one cause of death and the second leading cause of death for young black men. imprisonment They also include black inmates in state prisons, both of whom BLM has consistently ignored.

Here are 10 principles that drive a movement that takes black lives seriously.

Another fundamental problem with BLM remains largely unresolved.A true Black Lives Matter movement will speak. to -it’s not about –Black people. It will assert the value of black lives to those who need to hear it most today.

The slogans and signs of a true BLM movement would have been posted in neighborhoods where young black men were shot and killed by their peers. This picture should have been painted in chalk in front of every family planning facility where black babies are aborted every day.

Here are 10 principles that drive a movement that takes black lives seriously.

1. Black people have inherent dignity and worth because they were created in the image of God. Like all human beings, our lives matter because of our Creator, not because of the color of our skin, our income, our political views, or our history. We cannot fully understand who we are until we recognize who we are.

2. There are only two genders: male and female. Switching is not allowed. We believe that men and women are equal in dignity and worth, but different in form and function. We need each other, and we refuse to succumb to the temptation to denigrate each other because of our current life, relationship, family, and community situations.

3. The family is the most important social unit in all cultures; And marriage – a lifelong union between one man and one woman – is its basis. We reject any attempt to redefine sex and marriage based on political pressure or changing social norms.

4. Children have the right to the love and protection of the men and women who created them. The best environment for them to exercise that right is in a loving, low-conflict home with a married biological mother and father. When it comes to family formation, the needs of children should always take precedence over the desires of adults.

5. We refuse to kill our descendants to achieve some distorted definition of “liberation.” We believe that children are gifts from God and refuse to send them back to Him unopened or destroyed.

6. We do not promote, defend, or condone cultural content that glorifies violence between Black men, degrades Black women, or promotes substance abuse among Black youth. The fact that a minority of black people are profiting from cultural pollution is not a valid excuse for allowing entertainers to promote ideas and lifestyles into our society. The kids that they would not make it their own.

7. We respect our past by respecting our elders.and refuse to exploit their struggles for personal or political gain. We also strive to devote our time, talents, and treasure to building families, communities, and institutions for our descendants.

8. We believe in salvation and mercy, but we refuse to treat criminals who cause suffering to innocent people as an oppressed group. We believe that victims of violent crime and their families deserve far more sympathy and media coverage than those terrorizing their neighbors.

9. Political views are not a litmus test of racial credibility or community concern. We refuse to be told that if we don’t vote for a political party, we aren’t really “black.” Like all Americans, our political engagement should begin with evaluating our values, principles, and interests, not the candidates on the ballot.

10. We refuse to value the thoughts, words, and actions of white people above our own thoughts, words, and actions. We recognize that white people cannot be the cause of all problems or the source of solutions. We reject the idea that holding ourselves with dignity is an attempt to appeal to the “white gaze.”

It doesn’t take much effort to show how vastly different the true BLM movement was from the movement founded by Alicia Garza, Patrice Cullors, and Ayo (Opal) Tometi. These three women want to destroy the nuclear family. believe Black women are sacred. They think men can get pregnant, but they never say the words “husband” or “father” when talking about black families.

The women who founded Black Lives Matter, as well as broader black leadership, are obsessed with being validated and affirmed by the people they think really matter. This is why they are usually nowhere to be found at inner-city murder scenes. Activists in 2020 preferred to spend their time trying to get white diners to raise their incomes. fist Unite and parrot their slogans.

These acts of performativity may help assuage the guilt of white liberals and pay the housing costs of black radicals, but they also demand that others value their lives more than we value our own. Until then, the black community will never progress.
