Friday’s ruling revealed that Trump must pay at least $354 million on civil fraud charges. Additionally, President Trump will be banned from doing business in New York for three years.

The trial was initiated by New York State Attorney General Letitia James. Mr. James said Mr. Trump, his two adult sons, Eric Trump Jr. and Donald Trump Jr., and their top executives took part in the Trump Organization in order to obtain financial benefits such as better loans from banks. He accused her of inflating her net worth.

When James first sued Trump in the fall of 2022, she asked a judge to fine Trump $250 million for “inflating his net worth to maintain better loans.” Her figure then rose to $370 million in January as she believed “he illegally obtained all of her assets” during her trial.
