Pat McAfee was looking for inside information on one of the NBA’s biggest insiders.
‘The Pat McAfee Show’ host asked Shams Charania if he was dating Kaye Adams after The Athletic reporter appeared gifted Adams gives away sneakers on Valentine’s Dayrevealed in a YouTube exclusive on her FanDuel TV show “Up & Adams.”
Charania danced around the question as the tables were turned.
“She’s a great colleague of mine. I think she’s great,” he stammered, then turned the conversation back to McAfee. “You got to know her a little bit too. I think she’s great at what he’s doing and it’s fun to go to her shows. Obviously, she’s just like you to me. Like, you make me comfortable while I’m on her show, you make me comfortable.”
Charania and Adams have been the subject of many rumors on the sports internet due to Adams’ apparent history of cheating on her show, and McAfee was acutely aware of that.
“Yeah, we’re comfortable with each other. That’s a good start,” McAfee interjected.
Charania noted that his FanDuel colleagues were in the same location to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday.
“Wow! Next door?” McAfee pressed.
“We were in the FanDuel suite,” Charania replied before rattling off a list of other attendees.
McAfee didn’t leave him alone so easily and confronted him, asking, “So, are you dating?”
Charania responded, “I don’t…want to categorize myself,” but McAfee mercifully cut him off.
McAfee clearly caught Charania off guard with the way he asked the question, but he was trying to get to the bottom of the rumors on the sports internet.
