Alexei Navalny’s Death Becomes Rallying Cry for Ukraine Aid

The death of Russian opposition leader Alexei Navalny has become the latest regime cry for more support for Ukraine to fuel its never-ending proxy war against Russia.

President Joe Biden Said On Friday, he said: “This tragedy reminds us of the current crisis. History is watching over the House. The failure to support Ukraine at this critical moment will never be forgotten.”

A senior Pentagon official said Ukraine is running low on supplies as the war drags on. February marks the second anniversary of the conflict.

An official said:

We are aware that Ukrainians are short of critical supplies, especially ammunition, and that this could be a harbinger of what will happen if this additional funding is not obtained. I’m watching it. Without additional funds…you’ll also find many other places along the force front that lack supplies and vital ammunition.

The Pentagon said funding to continue military aid to Ukraine has been exhausted.

The bipartisan establishment said there was a need to further escalate the long-running conflict between Ukraine and Russia following Navalny’s death.

said House Foreign Affairs Committee Ranking Member Gregory Meeks (D-N.Y.).

We must continue to stand by the Ukrainian people who fight daily against Russian atrocities for their right to life. That’s why I continue to call on Speaker Johnson to end the political game and pass this urgently needed supplemental legislation. The United States must use every tool at our disposal to hold President Putin, his regime, and all those responsible for the death of Alexei Navalny accountable.

House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries (D-N.Y.) commented:

The House of Representatives must support the Ukrainian people in their brave fight against Russian aggression. Those who do not risk being permanently tainted by history as accomplices in Putin’s tyranny. The bipartisan national security bill must be brought to the floor immediately for an up-or-down vote.

“One way to punish Putin for Navalny’s murder? Pass a national security supplement and allow Ukrainians to destroy the remaining Putin forces,” said Rep. Jason Crow (D-Colo.). I raised my voice.

A bipartisan group of House members introduced a $66 billion aid package for Ukraine after the Senate passed a $95 billion aid bill that appeared to be dead on arrival in the House.

The bill, sponsored by Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-Pennsylvania), would send $47.7 billion to Ukraine. House Foreign Affairs Committee Chairman Michael McCaul (R-Texas) said Congress should pass a Ukraine aid bill in March to support Ukraine’s planned April counteroffensive. The 2023 Ukrainian counteroffensive was considered a failure.

Despite strong calls from the establishment to help Ukraine, conservatives want to focus on what ails the United States.

“Maybe the reason I’m more excited about what’s happening in America is not because I believe America is worse than Russia or any other country, but because America is my home.” J.D. Vance Senator (Republican, Ohio) I have written.
