Former President Donald Trump denounced the $355 million fine he was ordered to pay in the fraud case and warned that businesses would flee New York state as a result of the decision.
On Saturday night, during a campaign stop in Waterford Township, Michigan, President Trump was revealed to be the Manhattan Supreme Court’s “madman” who was found to have inflated his net worth by billions of dollars to secure lucrative bank loans. He strongly criticized Judge Arthur Engoron’s ruling the day before.
President Trump, while maintaining his innocence, told the crowd: “This case is a complete and utter sham. It’s a sham.”
“There were no victims, no damages, no defaults, no complaints, nothing. There was nothing,” he said.
The front-runner for the Republican presidential nomination said the lawsuit filed by New York Attorney General Letitia James against Trump, his companies and his sons is an attempt by Democrats to sabotage Trump’s presidency. He repeated his claim that.
“This is just a ploy to tamper with the election by a crazy attorney general who works closely with a very bad judge,” Trump said.
“For doing everything right, Judge Engoran fined me $355 million,” he declared.
President Trump has said he plans to appeal the decision, which would bar him from running the Trump Organization or serving as a director or officer of any other New York company for three years.
“If there is justice in New York State, we will prevail,” he declared.

He predicted an exodus of businesses from the Empire State out of fear of the legal system.
“As a result of this decision, businesses will be forced to leave New York state, taking thousands of jobs with them because they cannot comply,” Trump said.
“And if this persecution of political opponents continues, no one will want to do business in the United States anymore,” he added.
He called on Congress to impeach Joe Biden to stop the so-called “weaponization” of the Justice Department.
