A Pennsylvania state trooper was shot by a suspect during a traffic stop, and the officer opened fire, killing the suspect.
According to authorities, the incident occurred around 4:30 p.m. Saturday as officers were conducting a traffic stop at West 14th Street and Arbor Drive in Chester, Pennsylvania.
When the suspect did not comply with the officers’ demands, he got out of his vehicle and fired shots at the officers. According to Fox 29, the officer opened fire, striking and killing the suspect.

“The driver exited the vehicle, fired a gun, and fired at the officer. The officer returned fire, injuring the officer,” Delaware County District Attorney Jack Stollsteimer said at a news conference. Ta.
The officer was taken to Crozer Chester Medical Center in serious condition. Stollsteimer said the injured officer is expected to survive.
Chester Police Department Chief Stephen Gretzky said the officer was “one of our senior detectives, and he was here doing his job, trying to stop a vehicle, and was shot.”

Mayor Stephen Roots said: “This is a sad day for the city of Chester. We don’t like this type of crime.”
“I say this to anyone who tries to challenge a police officer in the line of duty: Don’t do it. Don’t do it. That will result in a tragedy like what we saw today,” Roots added.
