The New York Rangers decided to arrive at MetLife Stadium in New York style ahead of Sunday afternoon’s Stadium Series game against the New York Islanders.
The Rangers arrived in East Rutherford, New Jersey, with each first responder wearing a hockey club jersey and escorted by members of the FDNY and NYPD.
After being transported to the game venue in firetrucks and police cars, each player was flanked by an NYPD officer or FDNY firefighter as they entered the arena.

The NHL’s annual Stadium Series was held for the second consecutive day at MetLife Stadium after the New Jersey Devils faced off against the Philadelphia Flyers on Saturday night, with the home Jersey team winning 6-3.

Of course, this game is just as important as any other regular season contest, but each team is looking to soak it all up in this once-in-a-lifetime experience.
“I want to make sure everyone is immersed in this game and really enjoying every moment of it,” Rangers center Vincent Trocheck said before the game. “What a great experience it is to play in an outdoor game. “Is that so?” he said. “But once you get on the ice, it’s all business and it’s all just another game in the regular season.”
The Rangers are no strangers to Stadium Series games, having played the Devils and Islanders at Yankee Stadium in 2014.
They also played in the NHL Winter Classic against the Flyers in 2012 and the Buffalo Sabers at Citi Field in 2018, winning both games.

The Rangers lead the Metropolitan Division this season, entering Sunday on a six-game winning streak. On the other bench, the Islanders are trailing the Detroit Red Wings by five points for the second wild-card spot in the Eastern Conference, making this game extremely important for both teams.
