Chyna Phillips, the daughter of Mamas and the Papas singer John Phillips, says her father made a shocking confession to her over his lap the night before she married husband Billy Baldwin in 1995.
In a video posted to her YouTube channel titled “My Wedding Nightmare,” Phillips recalls having a “really intense conversation with my dad” the night before her wedding.
“We talked about some pretty traumatic events and a lot of things came to the surface and my dad had a lot of emotions, and of course it made me feel a lot of emotions too, and I just I remember staying up all night crying, [felt] I also felt numb,” she said.

The 56-year-old did not reveal the details of her father’s confession, but she felt it was due to the fact that he gave her a present at their wedding.

In a video conversation with Mackenzie, Chinna said: “Obviously, he was a great songwriter and you know I loved his laugh, but there was still this whole other side to my dad that was kind of a monster. He was so dark that he had no idea who he was going to catch. It was very unpredictable. ”
Phillips recalled a conversation she had with her father before the wedding, calling it “a defining moment in my life and changed me forever.”
Although John died in 2001 at the age of 65, Ms Phillips noted that she continues to have conflicting feelings towards him, acknowledging his addiction issues and her struggle to forgive him. Ta.
