South African parliamentarian Ahmed Munzor Sheikh Emam of the National Liberal Party said in a February 14 speech that if “Zionists” tried to turn Cape Town into a “Jewish state,” there would be “bloodshed” for Jews. I warned you it would happen. ”
The speech was uploaded to the South African Parliament’s Youtube channel, reported by the Middle East Media Research Institute (MEMRI), and has since spread internationally.

Anti-Semitism has skyrocketed in South Africa since the October 7 Hamas terrorist attack in Israel. Additionally, South Africa led the charge against Israel on the international stage, accusing it of “genocide” at the International Court of Justice.
There is also a reason why Mr. Imam’s speech became a hot topic on the internet. While South Africa is accusing Israel of “genocide,” a member of parliament is hinting at genocide against Jews.
Critics also pointed out that the speech was not only anti-Israel and anti-Zionist, but also anti-Semitic.
