Over the weekend, some registered voters logged onto websites to check their voting history, especially since the state held both the presidential primary and the Republican caucus earlier this month. To their surprise, some voters found that their mail-in ballots for preferred primaries were recorded, even though they either voted in person or did not vote at all.
According to the newspaper, Pat Wallace, a Nevada resident, told the state senator, “When they checked the voting history of both of us, we were surprised that they verified our ‘mail-in ballots.'” I wrote a letter. Reno Gazette Journal.
“There’s one problem: We didn’t send out mail-in ballots.”
of Las Vegas Review Journal The Nevada Republican Party reported receiving “numerous” similar complaints. Chairman Michael McDonald said: “We are taking this report very seriously.” “The foundation of our republic is the American people’s trust and confidence in our electoral process. To ensure the integrity of our elections, any signs of fraud must be thoroughly investigated.”
The Nevada Secretary of State’s Office then quickly issued a statement allaying voter concerns about the integrity of the election and the reliability of the state’s voting process. “On Sunday, February 18, the Secretary of State’s Office became aware of a possible technical issue related to the voting history of individuals who did not participate in the presidential primary,” the spokesperson said.
“Our election staff and IT staff immediately began working on this issue and met with county clerks and registrars this morning. We are working to resolve the issue as quickly as possible and will provide further updates as soon as possible.” We will provide information.”
The spokesperson also assured voters that the technical glitch did not affect the final vote count, saying, “It is important to note that voting history is generated separately from election results. SilverStateElection.NV.gov County ballots are unaffected and accurate. ”
The Secretary of State’s Office claimed the glitch would be resolved within 48 hours and a report would be issued at a later date.
Former President Donald Trump won the Nevada Republican caucus in a landslide, as his rival Nikki Haley wasn’t even on the caucus ballot. In Nevada’s Republican presidential primary, the situation was reversed: Trump was not on the ballot, but Haley was. As Blaze News previously reported, “none of these candidates” were included on the primary ballot as well, and the options topped Haley by a final total of 63% to 31%.
