The incident occurred on February 15th when officers attempted to take the suspect into custody at the Randall Island Immigrant Shelter.

Hostile residents of the shelter surrounded the five officers and began throwing bottles, backpacks and other items at them. Some of them lunged at the officers and tried to prevent them from making arrests.

The officers were yelled at in Spanish.

Security guards at the shelter reportedly called the NYPD because the man was “behaving in a disorderly manner.” according to to new york daily news.

The suspect seen in the video was wearing a white shirt and was in police custody, but was reportedly not a resident of the shelter.

Security guards at the shelter eventually surrounded the officers and helped them exit the building with the suspect.

The video is the second video of immigrants attacking NYPD officers to go viral in less than a month.

The previous video made national headlines on January 30, when a group of about nine illegal aliens attacked several New York City police officers on the street.

The officers reportedly approached a group of migrants and told them to stop wandering and move on as one of the migrants yelled profanities and a scuffle broke out between the group and the officers.
